Logistics

Several suppliers, one shipment, checked before it leaves

Buying from four factories usually means four shipments, four sets of paperwork and four chances for something to go wrong. Consolidation is the unglamorous part of this business that saves the most money.

Consolidation

Goods from several suppliers are brought together, checked, repacked where it helps, and shipped as one. For anyone importing mixed goods in less than container loads, this is usually the largest single saving available.

Inspection before dispatch

Goods are checked before they leave. Finding a problem in Asia is an inconvenience; finding the same problem after it has cleared customs on the other side of the world is an expensive argument with someone who has already been paid.

Documentation

Commercial invoice, packing list and the certificates your customs authority will ask for. Getting the paperwork right before departure is cheaper than fixing it at a port.
